Fully Funded Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University in USA 2021

Stanford University is taking applications for the Fully Funded Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program in the United for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program nurtures and supports a highly engaged, cross-disciplinary, and diverse community of graduate scholars from across Stanford University, and delivers a diverse collection of academic experiences, getting graduates ready to address complex problems facing the world.

Stanford University, formally Leland Stanford Junior University, is a privately-owned research university in Stanford, California. The campus sits on 8,180 acres, among the biggest in the United States, and has more than 17,000 scholars enrolled. Stanford is ranked among the best schools in the world by scholarly publications. The university is organized around seven schools: three schools comprising 40 academic departments at the undergraduate level and also four professional schools that concentrate on graduate programs in law, education, medicine, and business. All schools are on the same campus. Students participate in 36 varsity sports, and the school is one of two privately owned institutions in the Division I FBS Pac-12 Conference.

Worth of Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University

For each of the initial three years of graduate study, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program provides:

  • a fellowship award applied directly to provide tuition and associated fees
  • an allowance for living and academic costs (like room and board, books, academic supplies, local transportation, instructional materials, and reasonable personal costs)
  • a travel grant aimed at covering an economy-class ticket for one yearly trip to and from Stanford
  • NOTE: Knight-Hennessy Scholars may also be eligible for extra funds to support academic enrichment (e.g., workshop travel).

Eligibility for Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

  • Nationals and residents of all nations are encouraged to apply.
  • First, in addition to submitting application to Knight-Hennessy Scholars, you have to apply to, gain admission to, and register in a full-time Stanford graduate program.
  • Second, you should have obtained, in January 2015 or later, a U.S. bachelor’s degree qualification or its equivalent from a college or university of renowned standing.
  • Creative thinkers who are curious, unprejudiced, analytical, eager for cross-cultural viewpoints, and genuinely thrilled to boldly and resourcefully address our world’s important challenges.
  • Brave leaders who are ethical, resilient, decisive, driven to accomplish meaningful results, and eager to inspire others to effect positive change at scale.
  • Co-operative community members who are humble, trustworthy, empathetic, oriented to act in service of others, and intensely passionate about contributing to the greater good.

How to Apply for Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

You are required to submit a separate application to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program and to your Stanford graduate program. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars application will request that you specify the Stanford graduate program(s) to which you will put in for.

  • Step 1: Begin your online application for Knight-Hennessy Scholars and arrange application criteria. (Tip: Ask your recommenders early.)
  • Step 2: Submit the online application for Knight-Hennessy Scholars by the closing date. (Note: You will not be able to modify after you submit your application, apart from test scores and recommenders)
  • Step 3: If needed, submit test scores for Knight-Hennessy Scholars through your application status page.

When submitting your applications, make sure that you provide the following:

  • Background Information
  • Transcripts
  • Resume
  • Recommendation letters
  • Short answers and Essay

A note about test scores: The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program abides by the practices of your graduate degree program: if your graduate program does not need standardized tests, then you do not have to present any with your Knight-Hennessy Scholars program application.

If the graduate program you are applying to needs test scores, you have to report them to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program by the graduate program’s application closing date or the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program’s application closing date, whichever is later.
